Important InformationSending transcripts through eDocs in Naviance is the easiest and fastest way to submit a transcript, especially for those schools not on Common App or SendEdu. Once you have completed the request, Mr. Miller will be notified and will send your transcript to the school(s) you have applied to. College Applications-It is recommended that you complete your college applications by Thanksgiving, Christmas at the latest. Your transcript will not change between now and the end of the semester.
Letters of Recommendation-Your teachers will be glad to write letters of recommendation for you, but you must give them advanced notice. Please give them at least 10 days to write it for you. Also, give them a copy of your resume, so they have more information about you. Extra-Curricular Activities-keep careful track of your club, community service, part time jobs, and sports activities! It is important to get involved in school and/or community activities. Yes, a part time job is an extra curricular activity. All of these look great on your college and job applications. ATHLETES- If you plan to pursue your sport at the college level you MUST register with the NCAA Eligibility Center. If you haven’t already done so, go to www.eligibilitycenter.org to register. If you have attended more than one high school you MUST contact your previous school and have them forward an official transcript too…also contact the Collegeboard to have your SAT scores sent directly from them. The NCAA is no longer accepting your SAT score on your transcript. Go to www.collegeboard.org to have your scores sent to the NCAA. Their code is 9999. |

www.nces.ed.gov/collegenavigator/ This is a site created and maintained by the federal government that does a yearly audit of colleges with updated information you will need/want when you search for schools. It allows you to pick 15 favorite schools and compare them to one another on issues such as cost, size, area/city etc… www.mymajors.com This site will help you narrow down your many options of what to study in college. www.collegeboard.org This is the site where you will sign up for the SAT and it has wonderful review materials for the SAT…it also has very helpful yearly plans for students to help be certain you are on the right track! www.fastweb.com Lots of scholarship and financial aid information. www.findtuition.com More scholarship and financial aid information! www.fafsa.ed.gov The federal site where parents of seniors will apply during January/February of their students senior year (don’t worry, they’ll know you have not filed taxes yet…just go by W2’s).
